Utah Infertility Resource Center is excited for our month-long program “Works and Wonders: Art Inspired by the Journey of Infertility” to be held February 15 through March 16 in downtown Salt Lake City. UIRC is partnering with the national arts organization, The ART of Infertility, for this project with the goal to break the silence around reproductive grief through art and storytelling. A major component of our collaboration will be a month-long, two-gallery art exhibit at Urban Arts Gallery and Art Access entitled “Arches in Perspective: The ART of Infertility in Utah.”  This exhibit will feature infertility-inspired artwork curated from original works created by Utahns and from The ART of Infertility’s permanent collection. The exhibit will present a diverse array of perspectives to raise public awareness about infertility, foster conversations about reproductive loss, and bring light to the pain, struggle, joy, and journey associated with infertility in the greater Salt Lake City community.

A sneak peek of the exhibit will take place on February 15th along with a film screening. An opening night reception will occur on February 16th during the SLC Gallery Walk from 6 - 9 pm. The project will conclude on March 16 with UIRC’s annual gala, where select works from the exhibit will be auctioned off. See below for more information about each event and how to get involved.

Join us on February 15th at 6pm at Urban Arts Gallery in downtown Salt Lake City for a sneak peek at the exhibit “Arches in Perspective: The Art of Infertility in Utah.”  Starting at 7pm we will screen the documentary film, “One More Shot.” This film is a raw, inside look at Noah and Maya, a couple trying to navigate the world of infertility. It is a heart-wrenching tale, sometimes ridiculous, often hilarious, but always real and true. We will end the evening with a panel, featuring the filmmakers, reflecting on the importance of using the arts to share your infertility story.  To register for free tickets, go to THIS event page.
